He is also a trained provider of Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS), a gentle, brain-based intervention designed to support emotional regulation, attention, and overall cognitive functioning.

Shane Mitchell - MACP, MA

  • Shane works with adults who are capable and high-functioning, but internally feel overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in repeating patterns—especially in relationships. Many of his clients are professionals and leaders who carry a lot, yet struggle with stress, ADHD-related overwhelm, emotional reactivity, or communication breakdowns.

His style is warm, direct, and deeply relational. Shane is known for speaking the unspoken—helping clients name what they’ve been feeling but can’t quite explain. Together, therapy becomes a space to uncover the emotional and nervous-system roots beneath your patterns and create sustainable change you can actually live.

With a background in integrative wellness, neurofeedback, and stress and burnout work (including years with Cetana Neurotherapy), Shane blends evidence-based therapy with somatic awareness, emotional depth, and practical action. Therapy with Shane is not about fixing you—it’s about helping you come home to yourself, build self-trust, and show up with more clarity, integrity, and strength in your life and relationships.

Shane has been with Cetana Neurotherapy since it's founding. He serviced clients as Program Therapist for the Stress and Burnout Program and as a LENS Neurofeedback Technician for multiple years. He has also worked with northern youth in high schools teaching teens how to regulate their nervous-systems, build social-emotional skills, and understand their strengths.

Grounded in humanistic values, Shane views clients as experts of their own experience. His approach is informed by Gabor Maté's Compassionate Inquiry, and Steven Levine's Somatic Experiencing. He quickly builds therapeutic relationships due to his empathy, collaboration and unconditional positive regard. Coupled with evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, Shane helps clients move toward healing and meaningful growth.

Shane offers online sessions to allow you to access deep, focused therapy from the comfort of your own space. Many clients find they can open up more quickly, engage more fully and practice real-life change while staying grounded in their own environment.
